Screen printing workshop with STPI
Ticketed
Have you ever wondered how screenprinting works? Join us for a fun and educational workshop inspired by the exhibition Kim Lim: The Space Between. A Retrospective.
This 2.5-hour workshop offers participants a chance to explore the art of screenprinting and create editioned multiples from their single unique artwork. This workshop highlights Lim’s exploration into printmaking, a discipline wherein she could play out the concepts of form, space, rhythm and light on paper as she did in sculpture.
This workshop is conducted in two different formats:
- Session 1: A parent-and-child co-learning experience. Kim Lim’s studio was a space of experimentation and collaboration for herself and her children, where they had also helped her with art-making. In a similar spirit, this hands-on session is designed for each parent and child pair to co-create on a meaningful print together.
- Session 2: This experience is open to all ages; it is perfect for anyone who is keen on trying their hand at screenprinting.
The sessions will be led by Yang Xiuting, the lead instructor for public programmes at the STPI, a dynamic creative workshop and contemporary art gallery committed to promoting artistic experimentation in the mediums of print and paper.
All materials will be provided and ticket costs include admission to the exhibition. Don’t miss this opportunity to connect with the legacy of Kim Lim and discover the art of screenprinting!
