Karaoke Poetry: A Collective Reading
Tusitala and Matter.Less present an interactive and fresh experience that blends Singaporean Chinese literary works with digital interactions. This fun activity seeks to introduce Singaporean Chinese literature to audiences. Offering a 10-minute experience based on the short novel White Bird by Cultural Medallion recipient Yeng Pway Ngon, the programme invites two participants to read the work aloud while audience members use smartphones to engage with real-time prompts, fostering a communal and reflective engagement with the text.
Tusitala is a Singapore-based digital storytelling studio that creates novel literary experiences and produces creative projects that are interactive, fun and meaningful, reimagining the future of reading where art meets tech.
Matter.Less is known for organising re:VERSE (砸诗烩) —a series of literary showcases, publishing WSBG (玩诗不恭)—a collection of poetry zines, as well as curating monthly Instagram poetry prompts.
