Hiding in Singapore: The Journey Between
“Experience “Invisible Man” Liu Bolin’s most ambitious artwork yet, where 100 individuals unite into a single living canvas in a mesmerising celebration of Singapore’s multicultural tapestry. Hiding in Singapore: The Journey Between transforms participants into living works of art through painstaking camouflage artistry, exploring profound themes of peace, identity and belonging. Set against our historic monuments and coinciding with the commemoration of the 60th year of Singapore’s independence, this extraordinary installation welcomes you to witness this momentous journey.
Organised by DECK in collaboration with Liu Bolin Studios. Supported by Singapore Tourism Board and National Arts Council as part of Singapore Art Week 2025. “
Liu Bolin is a Beijing-based contemporary artist known for his unique self-portraits that explore the paradox of presence and absence. Using meticulous hand-painted camouflage, he vanishes into the backgrounds of his images, challenging us to question our relationship with the visible world.
