Registration
A casual platform for art advocacy, Artsplaining introduces and fosters art appreciation by engaging individuals from various industries and backgrounds who may not have direct ties to the arts, thus establishing relatability and connections between the art and non-art worlds.
Through thoughtful conversations and witty interpretations, our featured guests reflect on how the works in National Gallery Singapore relate to different industries and non-art spheres. Equal parts offbeat and accessible, this programme is perfect for anyone curious about the visual arts!
For the first time, Artsplaining is collaborating with the Resonates with Residency (RWR) Programme to showcase RWR artists and their creative process leading up to their final performance during the festival. Come by to hear Redwan’s perspective on his residency and how it influenced the choice of artwork for his performance.
Redwan Hamzah is a composer, singer-songwriter, musician and educator. Interfacing with different disciplines, he has composed for dance, theatre and film. He aims to bridge explorations of his Javanese roots with a search for balance between harmony, melody and technology. His works include Dock 65, Hypnagogia, Civil Twilight, Eudaimonia, In Parallel, Body History: III (Sigma Contemporary Dance), Stolen Dance (Translucent Bodies) and Sunny (Viddsee). He has also performed in an improvisatory context for various shows, most recently Unsound Bodies and Weaving Worlds (Esplanade).
